Among Us Imposter: Top 10 Ways To Win

Among Us is taking the whole internet by storm and there’s plenty of Twitch Streams, Videos and meme’s online about this fantastic game.

Among Us is classed as an online multiplayer social deduction game. It was developed by American game studio Innersloth and was released in June of 2018. Yes two years ago! The game has suddenly blown up thanks to gaming influencers playing it on Twitch and posting clips online.

The game takes place in a space-themed settings in which players each take on one of two roles, most being Crew Mates, and a predetermined number being Impostors, usually 1 or 2 but there can be more.

To win as an imposter you have three choices, deceive your way to the end, kill everyone or successfully complete a sabotage.

But here are 10 ways that you can win as an imposter, let us break them down for you:

#10 Among Us Imposter – Crowd Kill

When people first become the imposter in among us they think that the only way to kill is the stealthy way…….you my dear friend are very very very…wrong! In fact in the right circumstances…the more people there are around you the easier it is to kill!

Often people will stand around in a crowd and on top of one another, one sneaky way to make a kill here is to join in with them.

But don’t make the kill straight away, as that would be too obvious, wait a while and then shoot your shot, it will be very hard to determine who the killer was.

Get everyone in a single spot early on in the game by sabotaging, this way everyone will go and fix whatever it is you broke. If someone doesn’t then that’s down to them and that’s just making them suspicious and that’s good news for you.

Go into the same area and hang around for a bit and bada bing bada boom. You’re in the clear.

#09 Among Us Imposter – “Helping”

Ideally you want everyone to vote each other out on their own.

You want to build up as much credibility early on, too much chat and too little chat is both damaging, so just act normal.

Covering for another player is a wise move so agree with other players that you saw them complete a task. This makes you seem trustworthy. This way the person you backed may back you later on down the line.

Give yourself time by creating a tie between two players, not only will it give you another round but it will give the next round of meetings another go at arguing between who out of those two suspected players it is and you’re in the clear.

#08 Among Us Imposter – Discussion

Not many people are aware but if one more kill will bring the number of cremates down to the same number as the imposters you will win. So if there is 3 left, 1 more kill and the imposter wins.

So the way to win here is to sabotage as soon as possible, it will separate the two crewmembers.

Kill one of them and you will win. It’s as simple as that.

Not many people are aware of this, so just keep an eye on the number of people left.

Experienced players will know of this and will call an emergency meeting as soon as possible, just make sure you get your sabotage in before they call their meeting as they can’t call a meeting if a sabotage is taking place!

#07 Among Us Imposter – Conversation Skills

Stir the conversation in the right direction and don’t wait for things to go wrong.

If you make a kill casually ask someone else where they came from or ask what tasks they completed.

If an accusation is thrown someone else’s way, join in and push the conversation that way. Do whatever you can to try and get the heat off you.

But what do you do if someone sees you make a kill?

Remain calm is what you do.

Just don’t flat out deny it as that makes you look suspicious.

Either accuse them first or explain yourself before they get the chance. try and explain that maybe the two of you walked in on the body at the same time.  Just try and use questions that either put people off of you and on to someone else. Don’t panic and start shouting or repeating yourself or hesitating as you just seem more and more guilty.

#06 Among Us Imposter – Fake Tasks correctly

We all know that only cremates can complete tasks.

So faking tasks when players are near give you an alibi.

Though this only works early on in the game as there are loads of players completing tasks.

To fake a task the correct way, stand near where a task would usually be and wait  bit and watch the green bar go up in the top left hand side of the screen.

Don’t pretend to complete tasks too early though as each tasks take different times to complete. Other members will know how long it takes to complete a task, too quick or too slow fake completing tasks will make you stick out like a sore thumb! You can’t fake visual tasks so avoid those. A visible task would be emptying the trash or a med scan for example.

#05 Among Us Imposter – Cameras

Much like in our other video, the cameras on Skeld and Polus may be there to help both of you.

While a camera that has a blinking red light means that you are being watched, could give you away whilst making a kill, it could also let you know someone is in there.

One don’t make a kill whilst you know you are being watched but two as you know someone is watching why don’t you make a trip to security and make the kill? Or Even pretend to be a cremate and watch the cameras yourself.

#04 Among Us – Killing

Well yes this is obvious but there are ways to make a kill without getting caught.

Be sneaky and hang back before killing someone.

Use sabotage to split the group and kill either when people are on the way to correct the issue or when someone is correcting it.

Have a follower and they won’t leave you a lone? Lead them to the corner of the map and make your kill and vent and just simply wait for the body to be found. Or run away and wait for the body to be found.

#03 Among Us – Pretending

Simply stand still and wait.

For the majority of the time people will think that you’re away from the game and leave you alone.

So why not make a kill (when it’s safe to do so of course) and then return to being away.

When there’s a meeting just ‘come back’ – make it believable, and ask what’s going on?

You’ll be surprised at how often this works.

#02 Among Us Imposter – Language

Language is a wonderful thing and if used correctly can help you win.

Among us is a game of survival so sometimes it takes a bit of brains to get your way to the end.

Don’t go throwing around accusations as it will lead to you looking suspicious, especially if you have no proof or solid evidence to back it up with.

Use vocabulary to your advantage, and start to insinuate things. Maybe you didn’t see blue running from the body but instead you thought you saw them. Maybe you were with green but didn’t see red with anyone. It’s subtle but it’s a great way to get the heat off of you. If you aren’t sure you’re never giving yourself away.

One doth protest too much springs to mind here, and we all where that saying leads to eh?

#01 Among Us Imposter – Venting

Venting is a great way to win the game, just make sure you don’t get caught. Venting is the process whereby an imposter can jump inside vents that are placed around the level.

A vent is usually found in industrial places like a warehouse or in this case a spaceship. They allow air, gas and or liquid to pass into our out of a confined space. Usually it is air or gas, and in this case as we are so small little aliens we get to hide in them!

Venting is great for imposters as it will allow you to hide from crewmates after making a kill. If they can’t see you, they can’t blame you so use them wisely!

Just don’t get caught jumping out of one too early or jumping into one because if you are caught, that’s it game over.

Why?

Because imposters are the only people who can vent, even if you didn’t kill anyone and you et caught venting, that’s it game over. You’ve been caught.

However, despite this you may get caught and it not be game over.

Just don’t give up. You may get a chance to catch and kill the cremate before they trigger a meeting.

You got to be quick but venting, is risky and a quick way to get a way. But you shouldn’t give up if you get caught!

So use this method to vent multi kill.

Wait for your victim inside a vent. Kill. Sabotage. Jump back in.

Then when the sabotage is fixed wait for someone to see the body and then kill them before they report.

Extra Tip #01 – Sabotage

Sabotage is a great way to win the game on Among Us.

Sabotaging is the process of damaging various areas of the map to help cause chaos in the game, it can be used to either help you win the game or to cause you to win the game, it just depends on what you are damaging.

Cause a reactor to almost explode or cause the O2 to disintegrate are two ways that will help you win without killing anybody. Because well if the reactor goes, no one is left alive and if the O2 disintegrates then no one can breathe and you all die.

There are ‘safe’ sabotages too such as the closing of doors and the turning off of the lights. Closing doors will allow you to trap crewmates inside a room allowing you to kill them without being seen or them running away. Turning off the lights will give you the safety of darkness to make a kill!

You can use your sabotaging skills to lure people away from a crime scene and keep them from reporting a body too.

Better yet if there is 3 people left and you are the imposter you can easily win, just set off the O2 and then go and kill one of them at one of the stations, as soon as you do you win! As if the number of crewmates is equal to the number of imposters you will win the game.

Extra Tip #02 – Combinations

What better way to win as an imposter than to combine allll of these tips that we just gave you and made them into 1 for a perfect game plan, for the perfect murderous, villainous imposter!? Muahahahaa! – Ahem Sorry. Let’s get back to the list.

So a great way to combine all of these would be to maybe do a sabotage and then combine this up with a vent kill. Sabotage the O2 and then boom kill and hide in the vent. Or, fake a task within a crowd and then kill so you’re hidden from view and then go ahead and stir up some mayhem in the chats…..muahahahaha!

Ahem

Sorry…..I’m nice really.
So there we have it 10 ways to win at Among Us as the Imposter! What was your favourite method? How are you going to win the next time that you are the imposter!  Let us know via our socials, we’re @howtokillanhour across all socials!

We have to mention Halo: Infinite on Xbox Series X

We know we know, Halo Infinite is delayed until 2021! But we cannot have a Top 10 list of Xbox Series X games without mentioning Xbox’s flagship title can we?

Halo Infinite is built on a brand new engine, Slipspace. The trailer looks really cool and according to Chris Lee, studio head on Halo Infinite. Halo Infinite will “mark the beginning of a new chapter and challenge for the Chief. But it will also respect and continue threads that led to this point.”

What it will look like

During the gameplay reveal we got to see what Halo will look like in game. It seems as though Halo Infinite will have more of an open world than previous Halo games. Though the game will still have a linear story to follow.

Halo Infinite is certainly going to be a huge game of Xbox the company. As well as Xbox Series X as during a recent interview with IGN. Chris Lee said that the game will start the next 10 years for Halo, stating:

“It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next ten years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community.”

Halo Infinite was due to come out around release but it’s been pushed back to 2021.

The plot line on Halo infinite reads:

When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance. The Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. The legendary Halo series returns with the most expansive Master Chief story yet.

Halo Infinite’s Plot

Though we do know that Halo Infinite takes place long after the ending of Halo 5. Cortana is nowhere to be found and Master Chief is drifting around in space. Until you are found by a pilot. Both the Pilot and Master Chief don’t know what’s happened and they are trying to piece together what’s gone on. Chris Lee also told IGN that the campaign will be long and a is considerably large. With is being longer than both Halo 4 and Halo 5 put together.

Xbox Series X – Wrap Up

So there we have it our top 10 games for the launch of the Xbox Series X. Well we know that Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War doesn’t come out until 3 days after the release. But it can count, right?

Among Us: Top 10 Ways To Win As A Crewmate

How To Win As A Crewmate in Among Us!

As Crew Mates there’s two ways to win, you can either complete all of your tasks or using social deduction determine who the imposter is and vote them off.

There are a number of ways to win as a Crewmate and we’re gonna break them down for you:

10.Complete all your tasks

The most obvious one of the lot is to complete all of your tasks. If everyone complete’s all of their tasks the green bar at the top left hand side of the screen fills up and you win the game.

Nothing too fancy, but a simple way to win nonetheless

09 Suspicious Behaviour

Speaking of tasks, Imposters get their own set of tasks to blend in with the crowd. However, they are unable to officially complete any of them.

They are in fact faking their way through their tasks. So if you notice a crew member aimlessly bouncing around the rooms, make a not of who they are as they may be an imposter.

Try and keep an eye out for people who are following other people too. If you feel as though that someone is following someone a bit too much or are wandering around doing nothing, they may just be the one you’re looking for.

Challenge them about what they are doing in the next meeting or call one yourself if you are absolutely certain!

08. Discussion is important

Which brings us onto our next point.

Discussion.

Discussion is very important.

Discussions can be initiated when somebody reports finding a dead body or by someone hitting the emergency meeting button, which is located in the communal area when you spawn at the start the game.

At first glance discussions seem like very simple chat room where someone is blamed or called out their ‘sus’ behaviour which will no doubt get them ejected!

It is here where you will use your social skills to weed out any potential imposters, here are a few ways which you can do this.

Location! By gathering as much information out about other people’s whereabouts and challenge them on discrepancies is a challenging but great way to weed out liars.. Some people get caught up in their lies and may trip up revealing themselves as the murderous imposter. Some people may hesitate to answer whilst trying to remember their lies, another great tell revealing that  could be the imposter.

Or….the imposter could just remain really quiet and let everyone argue amongst themselves, so if you notice anyone being really quiet, ask them why! If they aren’t talking they aren’t helping. See how they react to the questioning, sometimes a little can say a lot!

Though this game is a tough game as the imposter may be talking too much as well!

It’s simple, just try and weed out those who are at either end of the spectrum, too much talking and too little talking are huge red flags….keep an eye out for them.

……oh and as a bonus note, remember what you do all the time, because you may get questioned yourself!

07 COMMON TASKS

So to add to the discussion part, if you get a common task such as ‘insert keys’ on the Plus Level or ‘Swipe Card’ on Polus and Skeld, everyone will have it too.

Though if you don’t have one of those tasks no one else will have it.

So it is useful to know where the locations of common tasks are, so if you see someone completing a common task which you don’t have, then they are an imposter!

Challenge them in the discussion and ask them why they were completing a common task!

06 Process of elimination

This is both risky and intelligent.

Being a lone wolf can be suspicious even if you are just doing tasks. Who is there to vouch for you if you don’t walk around with someone?

So walk around with someone and it will limit the chance of being attacked by the imposter. The imposter won’t attack you if there is someone to witness it!

While it also gives you a chance to check out if the person you are with is actually doing tasks. So use this method at your own risk as you may be putting yourself in danger!

During the discussion period it gives you a chance to vouch for one another and it gives you proof of being where you were, where you say you were at the time of bodies being found or emergency meetings being called.

05 STACKING

One sneaky way of winning as a crew member is the process of stacking. Imagine getting  two sheets of paper that are the same size and then placing one perfectly on top of the other. The two pieces of paper would appear to be a single sheet of paper.

Well the same can be done in among us, except this time you use the lil alien that you are controlling. And if done correctly is an absolutely awesome way to lure in and catch an imposter.

By aligning aligning yourself ‘inside’ ….wait that sounds wrong….by aligning yourself perfectly on top of another crew member, it look like you are a lone solo player.

If the imposter sees you and then decides to kill, they’ll only kill one of you, exposing who they are. The imposter!

While risky as it means that one of you will die, it certainly means that you will win the game!

There are some challenges with this technique that can make it a harder trick to pull off in a live game.

Stacking Issues

One issue is your name tags – some imposters rush straight in for the kill meaning they see a lone player and BOSH!…but a craftier imposter may take a moment to look at your name tag above your characters head. If you are stacked your name tags stack also which is a bit of a tell.

There was a special Unicode Character you could input instead of text that actually removed your characters name which was perfect for stacking but the developers removed the ability to do this with an update.

There is at the time of the making of this video  another workaround where you can input a unicode character that makes your name a single dot which is not perfect but should make stacking much harder to stop making the predator…..the prey!

04 Fixing Sabotages

The imposter can try and sabotage the game.

Sabotage is where they …literally sabotage some of the critical systems on the level pretty much forcing you to stop your regular tasks to fix it, because if they don’t the imposter wins.

by causing a reactor to explode or to turn off the Oxygen, while this will help them win, it also exposes them greatly.

Crew members are the only players in the game who can fix such issues.

So when they arise, everyone should be trying their best to fix the issues in the game, if you notice someone just standing around or wandering around and not trying to fix the sabotaged area, they may just be the imposter.

03 Fresh Kills

What people may not know is that when a body is killed the body will stay upright momentarily before falling over.

So if you walk past someone and then you see a body which is still standing up, that person who you just walked past may just be the imposter!

If the body is on the floor there is a small chance that the person you walked past may have just missed the body.

Though, like we said, if the body is still upright, there is a STRONG chance that they are the imposter!

02 Cameras

There are cameras on two of the levels in Among Us, Skeld and Polus. They will give information on where everyone is.

So make sure you tale a look at them as you may just catch a killer red handed or watch some suspicious behaviour and then call it out.

Quick tip, did you know that Imposters who have played the game for a while will notice the blinking light on the cameras when someone is watching.

If you think someone is about to make a kill, go off the cameras and then go back, to see a dead body,  if they were an imposter, you may have just caught them red handed!

01 VENTS

Keep an eye on the vents, if you see someone venting, they are an imposter, only imposters can vent.

However, there is quite a sneaky way to check out if someone has vented.

On the Medbay in Skeld, a simple observation can help you spot the imposter.

If a cremate is coming back from the Medbay after completing a task, they’ll be facing towards their left. However, if an imposter is coming out of the Medbay after using a vent, they’ll be facing their right.

Such a small observation can help win the game!

Black History Month

Black History Month – 7 Top Black Video Game Characters

Black History Month – Top 7 Black Video Game Characters

Hello and welcome back to the channel, October is Black History Month in the UK, and to celebrate we thought we give you a list of our favourite 7     Black video game characters.

I go by the name of Mr Midas and if you’re new to the channel please give us a subscribe.

representation is key, and being able to play as a character who looks, sounds like you is a dope feeling so we’ve complied this list but we’re only allowing one character per franchise and the characters must be a video game first, so no 50 cent in bulletproof, sorry Kat.

Number 7 – Black History Month

Jeffrey Cross aka OG Loc Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Rapper

GTA is one of the biggest gaming franchises EVER! And has sold over 300 million units, and has featured various black MPCs thought the world. So it was an incredible surprise when Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on the PS2. The game featured a lead Black protagonist “CJ” Carl Johnson. San Andreas was heavy influenced by 80s West coast rap groups, such as N.WA and my favourite character in the game was wannabe rapper Jeffrey Cross aka OG Loc baby!

Jeffrey grew up on Grove Street, and therefore became friends Grove Street Families like Big Smoke, Jeffery was never really about that gangster life and even planned on going to college but ended up faking it and pinning the name OG loc, after coming out of prison.

You first encounter him, on a mission where he tells Carl that a viral rapper “stole his rhymes” And after a hype motorbike chase mission you find out later that he was just someone’s prison boyfriend.

OG Loc is hilarious and that character is a joke on the many rappers, who pretend to of lived that “Gangster lifestyle” which is further mocked when he works at Burger Shot as a “hygiene technician” and has CJ doing his dirty work.

And as much as he wants you to, you just never take him too seriously.

Number 6 – Black History Month

Nessa – Pokemon – Pokemon Trainer

Pokemon is arguably one of the largest gaming franchises, the series has sold over 368 million units, over 76 titles and representation never comes to mind when when thinking about the series. Until a Nintendo Direct revealed one of the coolest gym leaders I’ve ever seen for Pokemon Sword and Shield Nessa.

With her tall, slender dark-skin and long blue hair, Nessa is the definition of Swag and has spawned a wave of Black cosplayers having a dope character in the Pokemon series.

The water gym master isn’t a push over either and will give your Pokemon that work with her calm exterior.

Now that list was difficult, not just because there was so many great black characters to choose from the lack thereof. Its great to see more back characters in gaming, but black cutlure goes much further then just our mealin, and please sort out these Jamaican voice actors!

Thanks you for watching the video, make sure you give us a thumbs up. Happy Black History month and let us know your favourite Black video game character.

Number 5 – Black History Month

DeeJay Super Street fighter 2 Kickboxer

I was super excited when Street Fighter my favourite fighting game franchise introduced a Jamaican Kickboxer. Although DeeJay has a very stereotypical look, he had so much more swagger than Mike Tyson clone Balrog. Being not only a world famous recoding artist, the kickboxer who wears his signature, orange tracksuit bottoms and dreads swinging in the air  has an impressive move set and became a popular character within the FGC!

Although Capcom… his accent is trashhhhhhhh!! And needs major work fam.

Jamaican accent! Example. See it’s easy enough, better casting.

But I do love that once DeeJay defeats M.Bison he goes back to Jamaica and gets a record deal.

Mad ting!

Number 4 – Black History Month

Sheva Alomar, Resident Evil 5

West African born, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance – Sheva Alomar, shot onto the scene in 2009 in the super popular Resident Evil 5, as either AI companion to Chris Redfield for single player, or controlled by second player in the game’s co-op mode.

Sheva, grew up in West African region which was associated with guerrilla fighters. When she was 8 her parents died in a mysterious accident at the factory where they worked, which was owned by Umbrella.

Chris and Sheva’s relationship starts out rocky in Resident Evil 5 but as events progress, they begin to trust each other.

Sheva was a hit for fans and media and PlayStation Official magazine even stated she was “probably the highlight” of the game.

Voiced by black voice actress Karen Dyer

With an array or unlock able customer.  Sheva was strong, attractive and continued the great female protagonist in the Capcom series.

Number 3 – Black History Month

Barret Wallace Final Fantasy 7/ Remake

Barret Wallace leader of anti-Shinra terrorist organisation AVALANCHE is one of the main party members in Square Enix biggest JRPG FF7 and Remake. The hot head, gun arm wielding is a power house on your squad with his Big Shot Limit Break and is Cloud first interaction on the star of the game. Amazing for his long ranged attacks, Barrett is the first Black Character in the Final Fantasy series and although he is characterised as an aggressive, square show hoe loving and affectionate he is especially towards his adopted daughter Marlene and team mate Tifa.

Barret is a must have on my list, as I love that square made him not only a vital part of your team but a major piece of the story of FF7.

Number 2 – Black History Month

LIFELINE – Apex Legends – Legend

Lifeline, the newest character on our Black History Month, 7 Top Black Video Game Characters list is 24 year old, Ajay Che, aka Lifeline. Apex Legends, free to play battle royal Lifeline is support legend, her D.O.C. Heal Drone is amazing at healing or keeping lies alive.

The dope healer has become extremely popular and has given many Black women a strong character who represents them, in todays popular shooters.

Although again, the West Indian accent is trash!! Who is doing these voice castings.

Number 1

Black History Month

Spider-Man Miles Morales – Super Hero

Spider Man PS4 is probably of the most fun, I’ve played on Playstation 4 and one of the most unexpected was having Miles Morales as a Playable character – The Mix heritage of Black and Hispanic character leads his own title on Playstation 5, which looks like EPIC to say the least.

Miles Morales being a spider man in a multiverse, has become more and more popular over the years. Plus enter the spider verse was an incredible movie. Insomniac has gone, far and beyond with the smallest but most important details with Miles. From his hair texture, posters and his neighbourhood. And unlike Peter Parker Miles is still very vulnerable and seems more human than super hero antics.
