Super Mario Run Online Only?!

It looks like Super Mario Run (hitting stores on December 15th at £10 and we cannot wait!) will only work if your iOS device is connected to the internet due to privacy concerns! One of the main reasons for this being that Nintendo The are worried about the game being released firstly in so many countries and secondly on devices that they don’t have any control over and problems over all modes working together.

Nintendo apparently tried to create a work around and have just the World Tour available offline but this caused many problems with other game modes in the app like the Toad Rally.

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto said:

“We wanted to be able to leverage that network connection with all three of the modes to keep all of the modes functioning together and offering the game in a way that keeps the software secure…..This is something that we want to continue to work on as we continue to develop the game.”

Nintendo full statement:

Online connectivity allows us to offer a variety of features and services that enhance the play experience. Super Mario Run is not a static experience, but rather one that players can continue to return to again and again to enjoy something new and unexpected. For example, online connectivity can offer the following:

  • Access to other users’ play data and scores for automatically generated Toad Rally challenges.
  • In-game events that will offer players new challenges and rewards for a limited time.
  • Linkage to Nintendo Account to access save data from multiple devices. For example, if players have Super Mario Run on their iPhone and iPad, they can share one save file across the different devices. However, this save data cannot be used with different devices at the same time.

@SavedYouAClick fighting Fake News!

If you weren’t aware of Twitters ‘@SavedYouAClick’ account, the account says what it does on the tin and “Saves You A Click” from click baiting headlines and URL’s in a quick snappy headline.

The person behind this god like account, Jack Beckman, is now fighting against the next worst thing on the internet, ‘Fake News’ In an age where ‘Fake News’ can account for a candidate winning the Presidency of the United States we need someone to filter out the fake from the truth and Beckman is here to help with that. As a whole news media is arguably broken, fake news spreads like wildfire (if done well) and across multiple platforms, be that questionable Facebook pages and websites designed to look exactly like a reputable news outlet.

Beckman has created a new Twitter page, a sister page if you will “@SavedYouATrick” designed to tackle fake news and he has already began debunking a bunch of fake news articles and sites, many of which are either intentionally misleading or outright wrong – however, Beckman will not be touching satire news articles and sites.

Netflix planning a SPLURGE!

Prepare to kill even more hours on Netflix in 2017 and beyond as the company are looking to spend $6billion dollars (that’s a bit of an increase from $5million dollars in 2016) on brand new original content, spanning across 20 unscripted series in 2017! To put this into perspective as of December 2016 there are currently 30 original series that are either in development or already released.

Which equates to around 1,000 hours of original content! (according to Netflix’s very own Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos that this is a conservative measure) Getting further and further towards their goal of having over half of their catalogue as original content.

Final Fantasy Kingsglaive XV: Road to Release is an AMAZING film, it looks incredible and the movie is even better, the guys couldn’t believe they were actually watching a CGI movie and not real people!

The movie is about the magical kingdom of Lucis which is home to the sacred Crystal and low and behold some evil guy wants to steal it – the menacing empire of Niflheim to be exact. It is here where King Regis of Lucis (played by Sean Bean) gets together an elite force of soldiers otherwise known as the Kingsglaive. Armed with the Kings Magic, Nyx (played by Aaron Paul) fight to protect their home of Lucis.  However things take a turn for the worse and the empire is just to strong for the Lucis Army and King Regis is forced to make a decision that may bring evil to their home. Does he force Prince Noctis, his son, to marry the Princess of Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Played by Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim and surrender all of his land to the Empire? Although this ultimately occurs, it is not long after that the devious Empire are on a destructive warpath bringing nothing but hell and brimstone with them. Fantastic Beats and Where To Find Them

Marcus Bronzy recently went to see the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ and the main consensus is that it was SICK!

It was aimed at more of an adult audience and wasn’t as child like as the previous Harry Potter films, it is set  in New York, 70 years before Harry Potter, following the writer Newt Scamander on his adventures with the secret community of witches and wizards!

It is 1926 and something mysterious is on the warpath in the streets of New York, leaving a path of destruction in it’s wake and in doing so threatens exposing the wonderful wizarding world to the Second Salemers, a fanatical faction of the American For Muggles also known as the ‘No Majs’   — A dark wizard known as Gellert Grindlewald has absolutely destroyed Europe and left it in a mess has slipped away from sight, and is nowhere to be seen, is he to blame for the recent troubles seen in New York?

It is here where the main character Newt Scamander arrives in New York, where he is nearing the end of a global excursion to research and rescue various weird and wonderful magical creatures. Many of which are kept safely in (and away from danger from any dark wizards) in his leather case. The movie takes a turn for the worse when a No-Maj known as Jacob Kowalksi lets some of the beasts that Newt has managed to capture out of his leather case and free into the streets of New York! Which unbeknownst to Jacob is a serious breach of trust with the Statue of Secrecy, former Auor Tina Goldstein pounces on Newts misfortune and tries to regain her post! The troubles for Newt don’t end there as Percival Graves (Director of Magical Security at the Magical Congress of the USA) has suspicions on Newt and Tina!

The pair of them join as unlikely allies, along with Queenie (Tina’s Sister) and their accident prone Jacob to get back Newts beasts before Percival gets them and harms them! The stakes are high though as the four friends are now branded as fugitives and their mission to save Newts precious beats may put them on a dangerous path with the dark forces which could force all of their worlds (No-Maj, Wizarding) to the brink of war!
