Scotland’s Renewable Energy

During the 1st 6months of 2017 Scotland generated enough power by their wind turbines to power Scotland for more power than they actually need for 6 days straight.

The data was collated by WeatherEnergy and later analysed by WWF Scotland, which concluded that the turbines generated 1,039,001 MWh of electricity in June which is enough energy to power 3M homes!

Dr Sam Gardner, the acting director of WWF Scotland, said in a statement

The first six months of 2017 have certainly been incredible for renewables, with wind turbines alone helping to ensure millions of tonnes of climate-damaging carbon emissions were avoided.

Scotland is continuing to break records on renewable electricity, attracting investment, creating jobs and tackling climate change.

If we want to reap the same rewards in the transport and heating sectors, we need the Scottish Government to put in place strong policies on energy efficiency and transport in the forthcoming Climate Change Bill.

Karen Robinson of WeatherEnergy also released a statement:

It’s great to see this data confirm that Scotland is knocking it out of the park on wind power with total output for June in particular up on the same period compared to the past two years.

There’s no doubt renewables are helping households increasingly avoid fossil fuels for their electricity needs.

Anonymous Believe NASA Know About Aliens!?

NASA is about to announce the discovery of intelligent alien life, according to Anonymous.

They believe that a spokesperson for NASA, Professor Thomas Zurbuchen, stated during one of the last meetings of the U.S. Science, Space and Technology committee that aliens do exist.

According to the video he said:

Our civilisation is on the verge of discovering evidence of alien life in the cosmos.

Taking into account all of the different activities and missions that are searching for alien life, we are on the verge of making one of the most profound, unprecedented discoveries in history.

On their official website Anonymous said:

The evidence sure seems to imply that something is going on in the skies above.

It would cost a lot for spaceships and a continuous flow of taxes and black budget dollars could imply a rational that there is more than meets the eye and or that of public knowledge.

Facebook Getting Closer To Launching “Video”

Facebook are apparently close to launching their own shows very soon. According to Bloomberg, Facebook’s new Video section is dues to go live in mid-August. Facebook have reportedly been asking partners to turn in their first episodes of projects, however some are taking a bit longer than expected and this may cause even further delays (it was supposed to go live in June)

Facebook haven’t confirmed the launch themselves yet, but it hasn’t been keeping this project a secret. In 2016 they hired College Humor co-founder Ricky Van Veen who admitted that Facebook were looking at original scripted/unscripted content. As well as teaming up with media companies to produce inexpensive productions such as YouTube videos and big budget productions to compete with HBO, Netflix and the likes.

Self Healing Phones?

University of Melbourne researchers are probably going to save a lot of people a lot of money, by developing a self healing gel that could prevent phone screens from permanent damage.

Melbourne School of Engineering researcher Dr Luke Connal said:

After printing, these objects can heal a crack or even a cut and regain their original strength. This could enable custom printing of coatings that can heal after breakages, potentially as coatings for mobile phones.

The materials we developed can also change shape when triggered by being swollen in a solvent, such as water. This enables printed objects to change shape once printed, which is known as 4D printing.

Facebook Death Sentence?

A man in Pakistan has been sentenced to death after apparently posting ‘blasphemous content’ about the Prophet Muhammad, his wife and companions to Facebook reports the BBC.

The public prosecutor for the case thinks that this is the first related to social media, Facebook are yet to comment on the ruling and the defence lawyer for the convicted man says that his client became embroiled in an argument about Islam on Facebook with whom he thought was a stranger but in fact was a counter-terrorism official.

Amnesty International have criticized the blasphemy laws in Pakistan stating that the laws “enable abuse and violate the country’s international legal obligations to respect and protect a range of human rights, including freedom of religion or belief and of opinion and expression.

It is so severe that once a person is charged they can be denied bail and face a long and unfair trial, access to Facebook itself was blocked 7 years ago after a contest to draw images of the Prohphet Muhammad was across Facebook.
