Is Vine alive again? Vine 2.0 Teased for 2018!

First of all, everyone loved Vine. We were all sad when Vine shut down. Now Vine may be coming back! In the form of Vine 2! What this exactly is though is anyone’s guess. But we’re very excited about a potential resurrection of the 7 second beauty!

Vine 2 is the creation of Vine 1’s Co-Founder Dan Hofman. Vine 1 was purchased by Twitter, who shut it down at the beginning of 2017 (Seems so long ago now doesn’t it!) It spawned a lot of creators careers but alleged monetization problems caused many creators to flee to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Jake/Logan Paul being the most prominent of the group. King Bach moving to the big screen and staring in a number of TV shows and Movies.

Vine 2: The rumours

Whilst this isn’t a definite that Vine will be born as Vine 2, Hofman himself did tweet that he is working on a follow up to Vine and funding it himself as a solo project. His most recent tweets Hofman shares concept images of a Vine 2 logo known simply as V2 and making sure each artist gets an equal voice, being generous to each artist, creating a civilised community and a ‘nope button’ which allows you to form your own timeline.

Most of all, we don’t know much else about Vine 2 but we’re very excited by the prospect of it. Will it be as successful as Vine 1, have we all been Vined out? Maybe time will tell, 2018 is shaping up to be very interesting!

Shazam

Apple buys Shazam

Apple have acquired the music discovery app Shazam! Shazam is the app that basically lets you identify songs, movies, TV shows and commercials from short audio clips. So you are then able to listen to them via your favourite music streaming service. Usually Apple Music/Spotify. So, this is not good news for Spotify.

Apple spokesperson told The Verge:

“Apple Music and Shazam are a natural fit, sharing a passion for music discovery and delivering great music experiences to our users. We have exciting plans in store, and we look forward to combining with Shazam upon approval of today’s agreement.”

Allegedly the purchase of the music discovery app is $400M! While only pulling in $54M in revenue!

How will this affect you?!

There are a number of ways the acquisition can benefit the tech giant. Music! As a result the most obvious way the music discovery app can help Apple is via Apple Music! (If they shut down the app and use integrate it into the iOS, one would assume via Siri. Therefore Spotify referrals will be non existent) As click throughs per day are said to be 1M. Consequently this is HUGELY beneficial!

Oculus Rift may not be the most affordable virtual reality kits out there on the market. But it is definitely one of the most powerful. Also the fact that it runs on gaming PC’s means that there is a plethora of applications available for it! So, your limits are as far as your imagination!

While being purchased by Facebook raised a few eyebrows in the tech world. (Yet to see the fruits of this purchase on a consumer end) This hasn’t dampened the thirst for the Oculus Rift and it remains one of the most sort after tech hardware to date!

A US Baby products company, Kolcraft, have gone above and beyond to give parents a better idea of what their children experience when in a pushchair. To highlight this they have designed a giant pushchair and chauffeured parents around town.

Kolcraft designed an oversized version of one of its popular pushchairs, the Contours Bliss. Unfortunately, it will not be available to buy but parents earlier this year took it for a test drive.

“We created the test ride so adults could experience first-hand how each Contours Stroller is carefully designed with a baby’s joy and comfort in mind.”. Kolcraft president Tom Koltun.
