NHS uses UBER!

Healthcare startup Cera, is teaming up with Uber to deliver patient care on the NHS’ behalf.

Launched in November this matchup will allow carers in the UK to get to the people who need them the most a lot easier. Cera announced recently a partnership with Barts Health NHS Trust. This company runs Mile End Hospital and Newham University Hospital amongst others. They will help not only carers to make their usual house visits, but also patients as they attend hospital appointments. By using this service the theory is that it will improve patient care and free up hospital beds.

Cera is also helping people remain independent by hailing an UberAssist, it will help with walkers and scooters, or an UberWAV a fully wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Uber is working Cera and not the NHS.

Facebook Dislike?

Facebook lovers prayers have been answered with a dislike button – kind of.

Available to a small number of people. Facebook have rolled out a dislike, or down thumb, option to individual messages sent via their messenger app, much like those you see on iMessage.

Facebook told TechCrunch: “We’re always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging. This is a small test where we enable people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings on a message.”

Moon Delivery

Jeff Bezos’ (Amazon Boss) Blue Origin (Amazon’s Spaceflight company) plan to develop a spacecraft called Blue Moon, to launch an Amazon like service to deliver the equipment needed to establish human settlements on the moon by the mid 2020’s, with the craft apparently carrying up to 10,000lbs of cargo.

Blue Origin has experience launching its own “New Shepard” rockets into space, the Blue Moon is apparently similar and will launch vertically and land on the moon’s south pole, as it has continuous sunlight which the spacecraft’s solar panels will utilise, this side of the moon is also rich in water, which the Blue Moon would transform into rocket fuel.

Bezos hopes the mission will launch in 2020, but only with the help of NASA.

Can you hear me scam!

A scam is said to be on it’s way to the UK after hitting many innocent people in the US, If someone calls you and asks, “Can you hear me?”, hang up the phone as they are trying to record you saying “YES” to try and authorise payment to your credit card.

This is what happens:

You get a phone call from a local number
The person introduces themselves and who they apparently work for and then they ask you if you can hear them.
You’re being recorded, as you say “yes” to them, they edit the rest and use your “yes” to make it seem as though you have agreed to a purchase.

Voice signatures are a way to ensure secure access to your bank, or services but this voice recognition technique is being exploited by hackers.

Inform your bank immediately if you feel you have been affected!
