/in Entertainment/by billywrightNeymar has got nothing on these lads…For more gold like this tune into Barbershop Ballers at the end of Spain v Russia on the Red Button #barbershopballers.
Posted by BBC Sport on Sunday, 1 July 2018
The world cup is over and we were blue after being knocked out by Croatia in the Semi-Finals. However, we can hold our heads high as the lads done well and made the country proud. What a World Cup it was, trials, tribulations, tears, excitement, drama, it was an exhilarating watch! Babershop Ballers was one of the things that was really good to watch alongside the football, bringing with it comedy and football analysis! (We’re not forgetting when Nick went to the toilet and missed a GAME CHANGING goal during Belgium Japan!)
Yet, our very own Nick Bright had his own show on the BBC iPlayer during the World Cup and it was incredible! Set up by BBC Sport and called Babershop Ballers, Nick Bright had an alternative analysis of every single game during the World Cup in Russia.
The premise was Nick lead a viewing party for a whole host of celebrity guests such as Trevor Nelson, Lethal Bizzle, Nadia Rose, YouTube Star DT and NFL Superstar Jay Ajayi

BORDERLINE
/in Entertainment/by billywrightWe got a chance to sit down and chat to British actor David Avery to find out more about him and his work, alongside more of what he likes to kill time with! David kills time doing a lot of what he loves doing – acting! One of the shows he spoke about was “Borderline”
Borderline: Cast
Borderline is a mockumentary based on the lives and adventures of UK border officials. However, there is one thing that makes this show separate from other mockumentaries. The whole cast is made up of top comedy improvisers and up and coming actors!
David has since moved on to do other shows in Troy, BACKSTAGE AT LIVE AID, The Night Manager and is due to star in short film ‘Tom’.
Borderline is a comedy which we feel that you’re definitely going to love. It’s something different and we wholeheartedly you check it out! It’s out on Netflix NOW!

Hands On with Nintendo Labo
/in Entertainment/by billywrightWe got a chance to play with Nintendo’s latest creation: Nintendo Labo! It’s a brand new way to interact with the Switch and it’s with something you’d have never thought was possible. You interact with the Nintendo Switch console with cardboard. The cardboard is customisable and you create differing designs, which Nintendo are calling ‘Toy-Cons”
We got a chance to take two of the differing editions of the Nintendo Labo, the Variety kit, which has things like fishing rod, motorbike handles and a piano more on that below!
Nintendo labo: Robot
We also got a chance to use the larger build of the two, a HUGE backpack which turned us into a Robot! The Robot is a backpack that utilises (cardboard) weights and cables to detect a users movement. In the game, you are a robot, which literally travels around a level and destroys stuff. Buildings, spaceships, cars, anything! You name it you can destroy it! Better yet, if you crouch down you transform into a car which has zappers on it to do your destroying for you! Want to fly? Well you can, simply move your arms to the side and your robot takes to the skies! Simply land on anything and punch downwards to destroy and gain as many points as you can!
The Toy Con’s both the Variety version and the Robot pack are going to be a hit with a young audience, they certainly made an impression on us! Simply because it was the element of building our own accessories which made us feel accomplished once we finished building and began to play! Even if the Robot one did take 3 hours it was 3 hours well spent!
Nintendo Labo: Variety Kit
So the Variety Kit, we had a go on three different games, the Motorbike game, Fishing and a party type game with the Toy Con House! We loved the Motorbike game, we all had a lot of fun whizzing around the various amounts of tracks available to you. All differing in difficulty, so if you get really good, give the difficult level a go! We were popping wheelies all over the track, everyone ate our dust! We tried the fishing game, which was fun, but we were a little disappointed that every time we tried to catch a big fish, the line broke! Maybe we should work on our fishing skills. Finally we took on the variety game with the “Toy Con House”. In this game, we’ll be honest, we were a little confused at first.
However, once we got it underway we had a lot of fun bowling, Nick wouldn’t put it down until he got a stirke!! We also loved the main screen where the ‘home’ had differing interactions each time you put the different accessories in it. For example the house ‘keys’ started different games and changed the time of day. Whereas the attachment with the strings made it into a ‘Portal’ esque type environment. Overall the Nintendo Labo Toy Con 1: Variety Kit was a lot of fun! We can’t wait to put the Piano together and make a hit tune!

Gero Lifespan: Predict your death?!
/in Gadgets / Tech/by billywrightEver wanted to find out how long your going to live? If you could extend your life, based on these results, how would you react? Well the answer to all these questions are about to be answered with the help of an iPhone app called Gero! Researchers are able to estimate your expected life span through physiological traits such as your genes, or circulating blood factor. Yet this isn’t a viable option for normal folk like you and I. However, we may just have the solution. You have the device in your pocket right now! Well if you’re an iPhone user that is.
Russian scientists have created an AI-based algorithm that takes all the information from activity tracking. From things such as your smartwatch or your smartphone to estimate your lifespan with allegedly greater precision than other models of the same ilk. It’s via an app called Gero.
Gero Lifespan: How it works
They use a convolutional neural network to find the biologically relevant motion patterns, gathered from a large set of US health survey data. They then use this data to correlate both lifespans and overall health. The app is very intelligent as it doesn’t just take in to consideration step counts. It takes in to consideration how often you switch between active periods. This is alongside many other mitigating factors. Such as sleeping habits and gym visits. These are taken into consideration too. After all this is analysed the app list applies this to a whole weeks worth of data from a users phone. Gero Lifespan users data from apps such as Apple Health and Fitbit to predict how long you got to live.
While this sounds quite cool the app doesn’t provide a full picture of your health. It doesn’t take into consideration your diet, genetics or any other crucial factors. Therefore the age you get given should be taken with a grain of salt. While it may seem as just an ‘app’ Doctors would ideally use both apps and clinical analysis to give a prediction. Yet we may be a while off before we can rely on mobile apps, as apps life Gero Lifespan, aren’t ready for medical use.

Blockers
/in Entertainment/by billywrightBlockers: Plot
Blockers is John Cena’s latest movie and it’s all based around prom night. It puts a spin on the teen sex comedy genre, it’s gender swapped and focuses on three girls looking to lose their virginity on prom night. However three over-protective parents stumble on their daughters pact to lose their virginity at prom. All three then launch a covert one-night operation to stop their teenage daughters from sealing the deal.
Our very own Nick Bright got a chance to interview John Cena for the release of Blockers and tested him on his wrestlers knowledge. Challenging him to a a game of Real or Fake! Giving him a bunch of wrestlers names with a few fake ones thrown in there for good measure. How well did John Cena do? Find out by viewing the video below:
