Philips Hue Smart Bulbs
/in Gadgets, Gadgets / Tech/by billywrightNick Bright on the show introduced us to some ‘Smart Bulbs’ called Philips Hue and they are quite impressive!
The lights allow you to choose from 16million colours in the complimentary hue app to allow you to set the light to match your mood. The bulbs themselves have been improved with deeper green, cyan, and blues for even better scene setting. You can even use a photo and set the bulbs to colour that particular photo! The bulbs are even compatible with iOS’s HomeKit technology, ask Siri to turn on or dim the lights! You can even save your favourite light settings and recall them whenever with a touch of a button.
You can extend your TV Viewing experience to sync with your favourite show or favourite music to flicker to the beat! Can even control the lights away from the house! Remotely check if you have left the lights on, you can even and check out how cool this is, by using geofencing technology you can set the lights to turn on as soon as you walk through the door after work! Not only that you can wake up naturally with your Philips Hue Smart Bulbs and have the bulbs increase with intensity to reflect the sunrise or vice versa and have it dim slowly to reflect a sundown.

Body Worlds – Amsterdam
/in Entertainment, Events & Activities/by billywrightNick Bright recently travelled to Amsterdam with his other half and discovered a really cool exibhition called Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS: The Happiness Project. Basically it’s an exhibition which shows off Humans without our skin.
This particular event that is running right now in Amsterdam is called The Happiness Project and tells a story of our body and the impact in which the feeling of happiness has on our health.
These bodies that are on show aren’t plastic models either they are real anatomical specimens of real human bodies on show which highlights how complex our bodies really are.
The ground-breaking BODY WORLDS exhibitions – also known as Körperwelten – have already attracted over 40 million visitors world wide.
Please see below for more information on the Body Worlds Happiness Project (Video is in Dutch but you can put closed captions on, click the settings wheel and then auto translate it into English)
Mission Breakout!
/in Entertainment, Events & Activities/by billywrightThis week we went embarked an historic escape room located in the disused tube station South Kentish Town courtesy of our friends over at MISSION: BREAKOUT LONDON. It’s incredibly immersive and requires a lot of team effort, a great mind and some logic to solve a series of puzzles and clues to manipulate the machines and break the code!
Like most of the escape rooms that we have gone on here at How To Kill An Hour, we had a team of 4 people (Minimum of 3/Maximum of 6) to complete the challenges, most importantly we elected a leader and then worked and communicated effectively to get out in time – maybe.
MISSION:BREAKOUT LONDON is open Monday to Sunday 9am – 11Pm and is open on Bank Holidays and School Holidays too! Prices start from £20 per player!
